FX Editor Continued, Status Update

<strong>XML FX Editor Continued</strong></div><div>So, you remember the FX Editor that I mentioned last week, right? How you can add particle effects, sounds, animations, and create your own dream transformation? Not only are you able to add all of those nifty features, but you are now able to add.. WEATHER EFFECTS! That's right, weather effects! I will be showing you an awesome video clip that Raven created showing off this weather effect! Please note that unfortunately, this was only a test, so there will be no fog, or rain in your standard ESF map, so you'll have to add these effects yourself unless a mapper decides to put these effects in. Now, I'm sure that you noticed the burning sky in the Picture of the Week. Raven added that by using the FX Editor. Since a picture doesn't show much, I'll be showing a short clip of the burning sky!

Sorry about not having a Halloween update. I promised that there would be one, but I didn't have everything put together. I was waiting on one final thing, but it never got done.

I hate to bring down people's work but knowing that esf 1.3 characters are so small, fog will make hard finding enemys at long distance.

But I loved the burning sky BUT I have one suggestion to make it better - the explosions are just happening too fast, make them slow motion, like the explosions are really far far away.

Nice job team :D geting better than ever

Yea, fantastic news again! That xml tool will be powerful as hell if u keep this up. Nice weather effects, I especially like the clouds and that ur not able to see trough them all, only at the close ones. This ways fights will become more close distance. As for the explosions on Namek, I like them but the seem too fast, as Snowman said already, but also too big ( didnt see the HD sky at all :( ) and theyre like all over the place. If some of them were close and cover like 1/5 of the skymap and the other ones are farther away it would look better in my pov. But I know, its still wip ;) so I have no worries.

Remember, it's not like we're adding this to any of the maps currently in existence. It's for custom content and w/e people wanna use it for. I think you might be able to ultimately do some client side stuff with it too.

It's for demonstration only. Don't concern yourself too much about it... In hell it rains fire :)

What kind of stress do these kinds of effects put on a users computer? (look too good to cost no additional burden to a computer)

depends on the amount and size of alpha transparent particles in a row. If the particle system is hourougly configured it shouldn't give u much trouble though. Besides I will probably implement serveral options to turn up/down overall particle quality.

Wow, I must say I do like these little additions. The weather changes are awesome, I think.

Though, the Namek fire could be toned down, perhaps added in small waves coming from the surface upward, spontaneously in gaps. I don't know.

With this tool, the perfect map could be made for Nameks end. The destruction of namek :). I love it.
