I was wondering but in the future(if halflife like advances or improves), can u make maps that make relistic damage of the objects of the map. for example, goku gets hit and plows into the building creating damage of the building. OR, Vegita getting hit by a beam and hits a small hill which gets crushed or nit pieces. That would be cool if our maps can to that.

Creating there own game engine will require alot of coders and also it proablly be more popular as a hl mod instead of a stand alone game, people are just to use to the hl engine and are uncomfortable with a new one. But if they got a new engine they could make ESF have alot more potential.

Torque doesn't support destructable terraine does it?

At any rate, ESF could never be a stand alone enigine game. It would be in direct copyright violation, and I'm sure the team would want reembursement for their efforts.

It would be cool to have a destructable map, but the things that were destroyed would spawn again, cause else you wouldn't have anything to destroy anymore.

Why are all of you people saying you can't make an entirely
destructible map , I played an ESF map that was (almost)
tottally destructible ! It was called dman_destructible or somethin
and you could destroy the floor of the map , piece by piece !
but it was a pretty small map :]

ps : that map was made for alpha but it would still work for beta
I don't have the map anymore but I think Dman has it
Just ask him :p

this map was never released on a site just on the forum

fully destructible engine

when Worms3D comes out, that has a COMPLETELY destructible terrain, just like the 2D version, everything will be destructible, even the ground and buildings, although some things can be made indestructible to allow for a permanent level, meh just informing u so wen it comes out, u might be able to switch ova to taht engine...

just a suggestion...

Umm this is possible if the the Coder for (ESF PCJoe is it?)
had the models themselves give damage to the terrain around
them, Anything in HL engine can be destroyed, Its all up to the
mapper. You could probably create a giant building and have it
act out as a crate and have it break down into little peaces. Its
all just textures.
