FRAPS PROBLEM(HELP ME)

Well this is my first time using fraps and when i made my own server to record something...it moves real slowly as if the frame rate is going at 5 or 6 and in the movie section i got the frame rate on 60 and i have a cable modem but i dont see whats the problem............any help :scared:

that happens to me, whenever i record in-game, my games get all laggy.

nothing you can do about it.

But the bad part is it shows what i record laggy....it doesnt try 2 smooth it out or nothing. Is there another program other than fraps thats better?

  • Lower the game resolution and graphic settings.
  • Turn off the "Record Sound" option in Fraps.
  • Record with the "Half-size" option in Fraps.
  • Set the Fraps recording FPS to "100".
As for any other programs, I don't know of any that are better than Fraps.

Try CamStudio, for me doesn't lag at all. You can record the screen too, but there's no hotkeys.

It's because your system (probably your hard drive) can't handle all that uncompressed data at one time. A more reasonable setting would be ~20-30FPS and at half size. That should allow for decent play and recording at the same time.

Encode it. Download an encoding tool such as VirtualDub, and encode it with DivX or XviD.
