just thought this could be useful since everybody is asking about it.
1. Esf requires steam
2. download steam at www.steampowered.com
if you don't have an original cd from a purchased half life.
you still can play but not on the inet.
tutorial in playing esf without steam:
1. first of all, install half life.
2. update half life (version 1110 or something like that.)
3. download esf
4. install esf into your half life folder (can be a bit complicated)
5. go into half life, activate esf, set up everything remember to activate the mp3 player and 24bit textures!
6. start a lan game and play with bots!
what is wrong with playing in half life? (lan/won)
1. won is dead
2. the alpha trees doesn't work. (steam allows alpha rendering or something like that, hard to explain.)
3. It sometimes says you have to use a cdkey when you create a lan game.. remember to tick on the LAN GAME when you create a game. (settings for server)
that should be all
just some help for the newbies! hope you enjoy.
peace
