I wanna' make a snakeway map, made the snake, made North Kai's planet, but i want to make it more realistic, i want to put some clouds under the snake, like fog. How can i make the fog only under the snake?
I want it to look kinda like this:




Post any suggestions u have

Hmm that was gonna be my first map idea.....but im not that great at mapping but i can't help you there. :D

Get someone to make a model or a sprite for you and then put that into the map, using the entities env_model for a model or env_sprite for a sprite. (I think it is called that.)

Well DJ made it with sprite coulds.

You probably played it s2k_snakeway_v2

Those clouds are sprites

but those clouds are aweful
you should either use a model or make some bumny brusha nd make it a func_illusanary^^

Its true they aint the best. But they are closer to the way real clouds work than a model or brush.

Don't a lot of sprites make the map lag? o:

Not if you dont put a lot of sprites in there.

If im right the number of sprites is small enough ^^

Besides Remember that sprites rotate the same way you look. So you allways see the full side.

Knowing that you can place them more eficiently ;)

Actualy it looks kinda good if you ask me ^^

The thing is. Models cant be made trasnsparent and once you move it they just disapear as if they never existed. Brushes can be made transparent but they also just disapear. Sprites on teh other hand make it look like you are actualy going throo the clouds ^^

Is there any possible way tomake a sprite bigger than the max size?

Try this: Select the "env_sprite" > Press Alt+Enter > There should be an attribute called "Scale", try messing around with that to get the size you're looking for.

YopYop, that's just...weird, how'd you get that right? Sheesh, it can look good though in a way, but maybe a func_illusionary brush will be better, well that's whatt I think.

EDIT:

Actually I know how, I just noticed in the lower left corner is "opacity", is that it?

First try

I managed to make the map, decided to make it an arena style map. (its 60% done)
I need to make some decent textures for the snakeway, a sky (already tried to make one but...see picture) and for effect i wanna make a lightning effect around the clouds.
Can someone help me with the last two, how can i make a nice sky and the lightning effect(something like what ssj2 transformation has in evm)?

why a lightning effect around the clouds?
and if u rly want it i assume you should just edit the sprites xP
but looks good so far^_^
