Is it possible to recreate realistic-looking fireworks in PS? If so, can someone tell me how?

I'd like to put a few of these:

In a variety of colours, onto the top of this:

It's a wallpaper for my friend (Evasor-X) who's leaving for a new life in Canada in a few weeks.

Any help is appreciated :)

Hm, I don't know if this will help, but here's tutorials that will show you how to make custom fireworks. Hm...

You could try going to Image>Adjustments>Color balance to change them.

1.take one of those firework explosions you have in the first picture
2.select it, click ctrl+i (invert), then click ctrl+shift+u (hue/sturation) and put the saturation slider all to the left, so the thing will be black/white.

3.keep it selected, click edit>define brush (im not 100% sure it was under edit but ull find it) give it a name (like explosionnn :D)

now you got a firework brush, go to your wallpaper, make a new layer, and tick the air a couple of times with that brush, using different colours.
