I beat the game at 17 hours of gameplay, and mind you--I got all of the demon doors (except two--the one of great evil required (I was good) and the one requiring you marry Lady Grey (who is evil)), did all of the quests (Yep, got that sword outta' the stone), completed all of the (good) optional quests, married several times, bought a bunch of property, renovated it, made a fortune in gold.. kicked chickens.. etc, I Did almost everything you could, at 17 hours. 30 hours? Maybe if you didn't use teleport a single time, ever. I teleported quite a bit, admittedly, but then again--I did walk a whole lot, too.
Now it's time to start my Evil game. ^_^
My only problems with the game? Aging, I guess. My character was 58 at the very very end of the game.. Wrinkles, age spots.. scars.. I didn't use a whole lot of magic (which ages you), but I did use a fair bit. Maybe I'll try going through as a non-magic user, but you get screwed against big groups of enemies..
Being a positively aligned Thief is difficult, because you can't steal or lockpick without getting evil points.
I wish they had kept in the multiplayer aspect of the game, but oh well.. Enough time had already passed. I hope they make a Director's cut someday. Great game.. bit too short, but amazing graphics, incredibly fun universe, mediocre story.
Worth buying? Definitely. Worth putting on your top 10 list for X-box? Yeah, I'd say so. Best rpg ever? Hm.. I don't think so, but it's now in my "Memorable" list.
