Executable error and protocol error

ok, when I try and join a multi player game it says, Your esf executable is out of date. I treid uninstalling and re-installing and that didnt work. ALso when I try to join a game it says the the server is running on a different protocol version, or somthing like that, I dont know what to do, and I have asked many people. please help

download the esf off of fileplanet :-\ that verison of esf 1.0 is not out of date

Make sure you have ESF beta 1.0, and make sure your half-life is 1.1.1.0. If you are using counterstrike, make sure that is also updated all the way.
