Eternal Silence [Awesome free mod, you have no excuse to not try it]

The next version of this mod is going to be released at around 4 pacific over Steam today (Friday the 6th). It's an HL2 space combat mod and it is absolutely awesome. Everyone needs to give it a shot. It reminds me of space combat in battlestar galactica or star wars. Just be warned it has a bit of a learning curve, but nothing as bad as ESF.

I've tried it, but it's not really my thing 100%. It's fun to play at start, but grown bored out of it later on because I get / got to be shot down every time ^_^. I haven't played it in a while, so it might have been changed (features / bugs, etc). It sucks that Steam won't host Half-Life 1 mods through their system.

Yeah, I haven't gotten into it since I pretty much mostly play TF2 But yeah, it's like an awesome fusion of the gameplay of Star Wars Battlefront 2 in the space combat, only expanded to make boarding much more useful and spacecombat more difficult since you've got humans and not incompetent AI. Visually, it reminds me of Galactica or Babylon 5.

The modification's stupid naming is enough of a reason for me not to try it. Titles need to be simpler ffs, whether it's a game, or a movie. Movies and games are remembered for what happens in them, not for their deep emo titles ;_; Take "Memento" and "Fight Club" for example; two of cinema's greatest films, one with a nice name, and the other with a simple name. We need more simple titles! "Space Battles" hasn't been used yet :0 (Come to think about it, think i'm gonna copyright that for the future). We need titles like "Vaginatown", where the intro scene is a giant wall of penises. DISCUSS!

The only thing that usually kills me is either a flak/missile corvette, or two or more people attacking me at once. It's difficult to evade fire while you're trying to keep your own line of fire on a target.

Edit: Oh and those giant pew pew lasers you see there. Those hurt.
