... in-game.. type record "video name" in consol, when your done, type stop in consol, then open up fraps, "BUY" or get the full version of fraps somehow, then in consol again, type playdemo "demo name" or viewdemo

Viewdemo - Fastfoward, slowmotion, reverse.. etc..
Playdemo - plays demo without any glitches

For compressing get virtual dub and compress it to divx. Or the easy way, just put the video into windows movie maker and export.

Is there any way of using something OTHER than fraps? Maybe something with better fps? And a longer recording time?

If you have a very big hard drive, then yes there is

type "startmovie "name" "fps"

30 FPS is normal, 60 is max but takes alot more space if you have it

then "stopmovie"

This takes screenshots in to your esf folder, use Vdub to open the pictures and then covert to avi. "UNCOMPRESSED" then use whatever other program you use to edit.

Just record a demo and then view the demo while recording it with FRAPS. You'll get like 30 FPS (though it doesn't seem nearly that bad) and it'll be decent quality.
