Steam is free and it's required to play ESF.

However, keep in mind that it's still a work in progress.

In order to play ESF, you need both Steam and a legit copy of Half-Life. ESF and Steam are free, but Half-Life isn't (it goes for $10 these days).

Also, in my last reply, I provided a link for which you can download ESF 1.3 from.

Servers are somewhat rare these days but a few do pop up from time to time.

Once installed, just click on what you usually do to join a server and you´ll see a bunch of servers. A lot of servers are made by 1 provider which I find really odd, but it seems to be all filled with bot players. (computer players)

Oh that. Thats the open beta. Its not really playable. Its there so people can help the team find bugs.

Its only a rar file so you extract it to your Half Life directory and restart STEAM. It should apear in your games list after the restart.

It doesnt really have any servers up. So if you want that you should fgo for ESF 1.2.3

Thats the current played version with the servers.

Then I´m afraid you can´t play ESF. You need Half-Life 1 in order to play Earth´s Special Forces.

You run it once , after that you install esf in the steamApps directory, restart steam and then play!

Extract/Copy it in your Steam folder (the steamapp/"your username"/ folder).
