What version of half life do i need?

The original version of half-life or this new version of Half-Life : Game of the Year Edition?

Sounds sorta dumb but the only reason i'm getting it is so I can play this extension, which btw looks totally awesome.

You can buy any halflife version you want, dosnt matter. After you buy it, you have to download an update anyway, before you can play on the internet. Just buy any version, and then look for the latest version (1.1.1.0 or something)

You need to update to v1.1.1.0. That's the current version of Half-Life.
