Uh, the game isn't supposed to crash, but it's going to some times. There isn't a new version out though, so whatever changed was on your end. Did you update your video drivers or change your video renderer to OpenGL, as recommended?

For me I find that some mp3's will crash the game. So now and then (rarely) it will crash back to desktop, so I will have to re-start the game.

Maybe a freash install could do the trick ? (everything, steam, hl & esf).

It automatically does that. The recent stability is probably caused by an update from steam.

If it bothers you Im sure the team could put the bug back in. The game cant be too stable, it just wouldnt be the same. :p

Mine still crashes sometimes, although I find I play less now that I have BF2. o/
