ESF crashes at start-up / Vista / DEP

Hey guys, long time player, but I come back intermittently.

First time I've played since I got Vista 64-bit home premium..

I load up Half Life, change my game to Esf Open Beta Final, and within 10 seconds it closes. Doesn't matter if I try to actually start or host a game, it closes. I've tried D3, Software, and GL at various resolutions. Everytime it closes I get a Data Execution Error, first time I've ever got it in a game.

I changed my Vista DEP setting to allow the HL Launcher, but that didn't work either.

Using STEAM? That'll narrow it down a little.

I do have steam and have a copy of HL, but I can't start ESF because it will crash within about 10 seconds, and I get the DEP error. Looked around, seems others on the forums don't have the same problem with Vista.

Try adding STEAM to the exception list. Failing that, set it for Windows services only.

There was something with STEAM having problems if it wasnt installed to a specific directory on vista if i recall correctly.
