Are we allowed to edit the ESF code with only personal use? I wanted to do some type of stuff inside the client.dll and stuff like that. I won't be releasing it since it's only experimenting.
Didnt you know theyre always watching?Optimus Prime said:If you're not planning on releasing it, how would anyone ever know?
Yes you can edit the client.dll as much as you like. But you wont be able to play online. Unless you make a backup copy of the dll firstDj^Swift said:Are we allowed to edit the ESF code with only personal use? I wanted to do some type of stuff inside the client.dll and stuff like that. Like trying to improve the shading of the game, so I've picked esf because I thought it would be best doing that and alot more stuff. =ofrsrblch said:Didnt you know theyre always watching?
What stuff are you thinking of doing?
Yeah, they're compiled source code. The Alpha 2.0 source code was released for download by harSens (I think, it was a long time ago), so you can edit it and build your own modified .dlls.DJ-Ready said:how are you planning on doing that anyways? .. arent dll files encrypted?
That's the ESF code he's talking about, unless I'm mistaken, and the beta source code has since been released.DJ-Ready said:err sure, but what does the alpha source has to do with this?
