im learning mapping ive learned all the usually missed steps from bob and a few other people, i HAVE got maps in game, now i made a model of samus's spaceship, it shows up ingame just fine id post a screenie, but im about to go to sleep, but its not solids, you can walk right through it, how do a make a env_model solid?

i saw pine.mdl ingame and it was solid, im im pretty sure im not blowin smoke out my ass when i say its possible

While I can't tell you how to do it, I know you need to surround the model with a clip box.

eeeh, crap 1st hint at it and im confused as to what a clip box is, an idea i had, could i fit a brush iside the ship possibly? , ill ask bob, he's my homie

Just ask bob how to surround a model with a clip box. That's the easiest way.
Though I suppose you could do it with brushes I think.

jup!
you create some brushes so they look similar to the models shape.
then you just take the "clip" texture for those brushes, and thats all!!!

itd be hard to make brushed to simulate its shape, its a uber low poly model, (under 400) but its a abnormal shape,

you dont need to create exactly the same shape!!
ingame the solids wont be visible, so theres no need to do it that precisely...

Give the model hit boxes and a skele.... then you wont need a clip brush around it... the hit boxes act as a barrier.
