Alright, its short.

1.2 Dust and Water spread (When you powerup or transform above ground or water) the bigness (I dunno a better word) of the spread of the dust was well, small and not DBZ scale with that kind of mess. I'm suggesting making it huge, messy and well, more messy and huge xD

Transformations should do more mess.

But if its a sprite, and you make the sprite more messy, isn't it don't effect lags?

Thats just it. It isnt a sprite. Its a similar particle system as it was with the 1.1 dust trails.

A few people swooping close to the ground caused the FPS of everyone in the server to drop by half.

You should notice the dust is actually 3D so it cant be a sprite.

People can make this stuff on their own if its not in by default .. probably.

I thought the fx system was being scrapped considering we haven't heard about it in a long while.

FX script has been the most anticipated feature apart from melee.
It'd be nice if PC Joe gave us a sign of life :fight:

But maybe instead of making a bigger dust sprite.. they could make a better basic melee hit sprite?


I think it would be nice if somehow the sprite was transparent and caused 3 dimensional radial blur around a singe point, followed by a expanding large ring that fades out.. like you'd see with an "exploading planet" on tv.. or "Saturn's Rings".

I don't think the fx system was scrapped. PC Joe said once that he already put too much work into it to not finish it now

Hmm...doesn't HL2 use a simple sprite for when objects hit water? That's not applicable here?
