What exactly are you asking for? Nothing is really going to speed up your download speed except for a call to your local service provider.

Hmmm, i beg to differ, the difference in speeds at times can be 150%, sometimes more, when i use download accelerator, i also like the fact that it organises file type downloads for you into the folders you allocate. Its just download accelerator is ghey sometimes and just doesnt work with some downloads, i was just wondering if there is a better alternative?

I am currently using flashget in combination with the flashgot extension for firefox. There are probably other, or more better dl mangers out there but iv'e stuck with flashget because it's what iv'e used for a majority of my time of using the internet.

I use Download accelerator pro/plus (forgot which it is)

And i gotta say, it's awsome. Especially from sites that have multiple download mirrors for one thing, it's nice. I have dled about 5 mb/s at file planet or w/e that place is called. But I can't get it to work with FF. Works great with IE though >.>

I have had a max of 80 at esf-world >.> That's probably not the best thing to say on the forum with Ready around >.<

you mean mbps (mb/s implies megaBYTES per second just as k/s implies kiloBYTES per second).

I have no issues downloading 4 gig (fedora core 4, and uh, some other stuff) ISOs through firefox

a download accelerator can only change settings on your local machine, such as mtu and the like, it's not gonna miraculously alter the 10-30 routing devices between you and where you're downloading to give you better speed

unless you're on dialup, you really have no reason to be tweaking mtu and other settings anyways

Uninstall all your porn + get rid of your spyware (from the horse porn)

I just use firefox, works fine for me, 700 mbps. I got fasterfox extension, that might be it.

700 mbps = 87.5 megabytes per second.... You do realize your hard drive probably can't even write that fast, and there's no ISPs offering speeds that high... ? :p
