I've been trying to figure out simply the name of the trick for like, a week.

Just catch the page with your sleeve. That might work, or it might not. But that's how I would try it first. If you finesse it, you should be able to do it smoothly with practice.

This proves it. He got a bit careless with his tricks. Pay close attention to the ball and how it looks against the background, especially when it passes in front of his body. See the "white ring" around it? It's the same pasted on look old movies had when they had actors act in front of an animated screen when they obviously weren't there for real.

I also paused it just before he grabbed it near the end. The ball is covering a piece of his hand, and then the next frame shows the ball completely disappeared before he even started to grip it.

This guy is a grade-A fake.
