lol wtf? MixMeister looks kind of fun
But livemixing is still a LOT more fun then that

For preproduced stuff I recommend Fruity Loops
For livemixing without any hardware, BPM Studio or Virtual DJ
If you can afford it, get two turntables and timecode vinyls so you can use your mp3's virtually on turntables. (vinyl = awesome)

Yea nothing beats live-mixing. Used to use DSSDJ to mix things on pc, BPM studio is really good, too.
But timecode vynils are the best when you want to mix mp3s and be awesome. Saving up for them myself atm.

I think that's a program to create music, not mix music.

FruityLoops is lots of fun once you get the hang of it. Comes loaded already with sounds to use.

I wish i could afford it.Thanks for the recommendations.
EDIT: btw how much can that cost?
depends ... two turntables with direct drive + a small mixer ... there are starter sets for a few hundred
timecode vinyls should be 30$ or so each.

Don't really know .. been a while since I checked prices

Traktor blows all those away.

I think thats how its spelled.

edit prices

standard technics club djing turntables

~400 US $ x2, so 800$+

mixer will probobly run you at least 200, plus some head phones, slip mats, and some vinyl not sure what any of that runs, but the djing head phones are like 60+$

Its expensive.

You can buy some kits though from numark that are like 200 that come with 2 turntables and a mixer but I'm not sure of the quality.

I don't think he's interested in the whole turntable thing. Probably just wants something like FruityLoops. Traktor looks interesting, I might give it a try.

Pretty much agree. If he wants to start, it's best to try mixing on the pc first.
That way he'll see if it's something for him, without spending money on equipment.
