A good example that he is an illusionist and pretty good one, is the card trick.
He rapidly shows you a deck of cards and the deck only 1 card with an image on it, the heart queen.
Now because the deck was shown to you very fast, you only memorized the only recognizable card, the heart queen.
Thus he knowing of which card you are thinking.
