I know ESF doesn't make use of v_models, because of the fact first person is rarely used, and not very supported, but this is the only good forum I knew to ask.
How exactly do you make v_models work correctly?
I found a tutorial on making them, but it was for Quake, and was not very specific. It helped a little, but not much.
I'm not an experinced modeler, not very good at the moment, but I'm trying to create a baseball bat, to replace and act very much like the HL crowbar.
I've made the w_model, and got the p_model to appear, just a matter of messing with it, but I can't make the v_model appear.
I think you have to compile the weapon model in with the Valve skeleton, and assign the vertices of the hands and arms to it, but I'm not even sure about that.
Also, are all the animations listed in the crowbar model file required, or is just one striking animation neccessary?
Can someone out there who has even a little experience in creating v_models set me in the right path?
Thanks in advance!
