Crashing to Desktop

I'm having a few issues with Open Beta crashing to desktop repeatedly. Here's what happens:

Everything works up until I get to the point where I have to pick a team an character. Then, it's like I'm on a time limit. If I do nothing at the team/character select, the game crashes to the desktop. If I pick a character, it crashes to the desktop. :(

1.2.3, as one would expect, works fine for me. And I haven't changed any options in the Open Beta.

I'm using legal copies of everything, Half Life, Steam, everything.

As for my computer specs, I have:

1 GB of RAM
Nvidia GeForce 7300 GT
AMD Athlon 64 Processor 2.19 GHz

Can anyone give me a hand? It'd be greatly appreciated.

Heh, OpenGL is the best choice. Attempted to disable 24-bit textures? (Options --> Multiplayer --> Advanced)

Disabled 24-bit textures and that allowed me to play. I think I'll stick with 1.2.3 until the beta is improved though ^^ So far it's looking fantastic though, I just hope it comes with a japanese voices download like 1.2.3

If he did that he wouldn't have been able to run the open beta at all. My advice: do what john_volkov told you, an occasional spyware scan, also it wouldn't hurt to defragment your discs.
