No CS 1.6 isnt the same as Half Life.

Let me guess, you are not using Steam?

If you don't know whether you have Steam or not, then you probably don't have it.

1. Download and install Steam - http://store.steampowered.com/about/
2. Create a Steam account - https://store.steampowered.com/join/
3. After you do those, start Steam and login with the account you created.
4. Steam will probably have to update, so go ahead and get that out of the way.
5. Once Steam is done updating, open up Steam, go to "Games" in the menu and click on "Activate a product on Steam..."
6. A new window should pop up. Just keep on hitting "Next" until you come to a screen asking for a "Product Code."
7. Enter the CD-Key that came with your copy of Half-Life.
8. After entering the CD-Key, Steam will automatically download the game and update it.
9. Run Half-Life through Steam at least once.
10. Once this is done, install ESF to your Half-Life folder (the installer should point to it by default).
11. Restart Steam and ESF should appear under your "My games" tab.
12. Just double-click on it and you're good to go.

You can try doing this for Counter-Strike, but there's no guarantee that it'll work. ESF was built on Half-Life, not Counter-Strike. And while they may use the same engine, there's still a number of differences between the two.

We are not going to give a solution until you give more details. Are you using steam or not?

hey stop askin' those Q. Steam has no role here, IN MY PC. i'm playin' normally with ESFopenbeta , everythin's okay . REAL !!!problem... is the POWERUP button. Whenever , in which small of sec, the game will crash when i push it...Then plz focus on my problem.. not your steam or whatsoever. OK?

fact is, steam and non steam are using different engine versions which means we cant help you if you dont answer our question....since our anwers would be different for steam and non steam

edit:
you want our help, so we decide which question plays a role and which not.

i play Lan game with bots... so no steam needed .
Correction.

The STEAM Version of Half Life and the nonSTEAM version of Half Life are different. ESF is made for the STEAM version of half life.

Weather you play online or on LAN you still need the STEAM version of Half Life. Any bugs that happen on the non STEAM version of Half Life are not really our problem since they ocur because the user (means YOU) are using an outdated game engine for the mod.

indeed. You can buy it on steam. Seriously, give your parents/friend/random stranger $10 and get them to use a credit card.

Yeah but I remember when I tried to buy it I looked in two months in shops all over DK, and I still couldn't find it :S
My friend ( who lives in USA ) couldn't neither find HL1 in the local shops:cry:

So therefore I diceded to buy it online through STEAM, and then it all worked out fine:yes:
