'could not load from library'

just installed esf, but if I try to connect to a server, it stops and a message box appears saying something like 'could not load from library .../Half-Life/esf/cl_dll/client.dll'

but this dll does exist

what should I do?

Download the FMod.DLL, copy it to your Halflife Folder, Done.

so, I just have to rename the fmod.dll to client.dll and replace it

no just copy the fmod.dll into your halflife folder. don't rename anything
