Well, I'm sure you guys are familiar with windowblinds.

If not, it's a customizable UI. It makes your **** look pretty.

So, after installing it, I installed Windowblinds, Iconpackager, and CursorFX, and now I can't shut down my PC.

Do you think one of these had a virus or it's just bugging out?

If I hit shut down, my PC just sits there and everything locks up expect my mouse. I can't click anything, but everything is there.

I have to manually push the power button to turn it off.

I prefer staying away at software changing your desktop stuff. They often give you more problems and issues than good things. Have you attempted to completely un-install the software to see if the problem still exists? I'm also familiar that with some free skins/themes/templates (what ever they are called :p) you wish to download, it also has virusses in them. I had that a lot in the past.

Yeah, I got tired of the fugly look on xp.

I'm actually formating my pc and starting fresh with Vista.

I have too much junk on my pc anyways.

I guess you can close this, I'm sure formatting will fix the problem :p

You sure you wish to use Vista? It has way more issues/problems than XP in my opinion. Vista may look nicer, but XP is way more stable. I'd way for a full release of Windows 7 ^_^.

fugly look > viruses

Not to be a troll but you just should deal with it. I'm not sure if Microsoft still has it but they had a official Zune theme for your XP which didn't look half bad.

Is vista 32-bit really that bad?

I thought vista 64-bit was the dangerous one

I'm not gonna make an image copy.

What I'm actually gonna do is use my external hard drive, and basically save my senior project nonsense, music, videos, and that's about it.

install everything freshly new.

Why not going to make an backup copy though? When ever your windows fails again, or have a big bad virus on it. The only thing you have to do is use the backup you made and overwrite your C partition. And tada, new fresh windows within 5 - 20min with everything installed.
