Anybody read comics? I didn't until about a week ago. I was thinking about going to see Kick-Ass but wasn't sure, so I read the comic to sort of preview it before I went. I ended up reading the whole thing. The only comic I'd really read before that was Watchmen. In the past week I've found a lot of great things.

The Boys is my favorite series so far. It's about a CIA team that keeps superheroes in check. It's full of ultra-violent goodness, and it's about as intelligent as Watchmen, but with more action. It's also hilarious. One superhero stops a meteor from crashing into earth by ****ing it.

This is my second favorite. Who doesn't love a good zombie apocalypse story? This is a more a survival adventure story than a horror story, but I think I like it more for that. Best character development in anything I've read so far, and it manages to keep me engaged.

What would happen if every man on Earth except one (and his pet monkey) spontaneously died? Extremely interesting story. Not a lot of action (except trying to avoid crazy chicks out to kill his sperm), but the story alone makes it worth reading.

So, anybody else read comics? I'm trying to explore everything good that I've been missing. I used to dismiss comics, not really finding them engaging or entertaining, but now I know there's stuff out there worth reading.

Marvel Zombies Vs. Army of Darkness (finished):

Marvel Zombies (haven't finished):

Battle Chasers (haven't finished, though the comic was discontinued if I remember correctly):

I just started reading Invincible Iron Man today, but I'm completely lost as to what's going on in the Iron Man universe. I'm not really into traditional superhero comics. Iron Man is one of few exceptions. Old Man Logan is better than Invincible Iron Man so far.

I told Hyb about The Boys the second I finished reading the first comic. So good.

I suggest reading Earth-X, Paradise-X and Universe-X. Probably my all time favorite arc.

I <3 it. They take the original concept of X-Men (Marvel's strongest franchise) and amplify it with all the other franchises.

HULK SMAAAASH!!!

This was probably the whole reason I got into the Marvel universe, originally. It ties EVERYTHING together.

You should read anything that involves these characters... they definately withhold the pinnacle of dialogue.

Old Man Logan is fantastic.

I've read most of Civil War and most of the Ultimate universe.

I've also read the Amory Wars series by the singer from Coheed and Cambria, pretty cool stuff if you read it while listening too.

I'm pretty sure you're going to skip over my previously suggested story arc, or forget about it completely, so I'll reiterate:

Read Earth-X and its sequels:

As much as I loved the Civil War arc, I have a greater appreciation for Earth-X because of how all encompassing it is.

I woke up my roommate when I read the comic for Good Apollo I'm Burning Star IV. Something about a wicked looking skeleton/demon saying "What does it look like I am? I'm a ****ing bicycle!"

S.H.I.E.L.D.:

Did you know that Imhotep lead to the founding of S.H.I.E.L.D.? Or that Galileo fought Galactus? Or that Da Vinci was basically the Iron Man of his time?

A new series that's off to an awesome start.

I finished Invincible Iron Man, it was awesome. I won't spoil but it's something everyone should read. I need new stuff now, so I might check out SHIELD. It sounds intriguing.
