cant install the game.....I downloaded the installer, but, after chosing the location, the "install" button in grey(cant click on it).why?can this be fixed?thx

Make sure you installed Half-Life 1 (not source) Through steam and make sure you launched Half-Life once! (Just launch it, go to the menu of the game and quit the game). ESF Setup just can't detect your Half-Life folder and can only do so when you launch Half-Life first.

How ever, if you don't have a valid Half-Life 1 serial (not from the internet), you are unable to download Half-Life and you are unable to play Earth's Special Forces.

It has to be Half-Life 1. It will not work on Half-Life 2.
