If you don't have half life one then you can't play i'm afraid.

it's very cheap these days , i bought the goty edition for $20AUS at ebs (in gift vouchers actually , so it did't cost me a cent )

I bought it off steam for 20 bucks, also I was told it wont work unless you have half life or counter strike retail,of DoD, it wont work with half life gold,platinum or 2 (thats what i was told).
