I will upgrade the GPU when i feel like, right now i don't really need one...

This for 972$ worth it? it comes with a monitor as well, don't ask me to build my own because I am not bothered :D.

If this pc's price and components look poor to you, can you recommend me anything apart from individual components. Thanks!

PS: Forgot to mention I'm buying from UK so $972 dollars might look more/less than the actual value of 607 GREAT BRITISH POUND STERLINGS.

If I were you, I would wait for Bulldozer to come out. This will either give you way more bang for your buck, or reduce the prices of some of the components you're getting here. USB 3.0 and Sata 6gb/sec should be in your mix somewhere if you want future proofing, even if you get a Sata 3gb/sec drive and have only USB 2.0 devices. That being said, the second system is slightly more future proofed.

I suggest you try this as well if you are going the pre-built route, see if you can make a cheaper, but better, build.

http://www.cyberpowersystem.co.uk/

Edit: I've made a dummy build just to see how much it costs. I have been pretty lenient with this build, so you could technically knock off a couple hundred pounds if you don't want to play the latest and greatest. This PC will have no trouble maxing any recent game on the 22" monitor it comes with. I think there was also an option for free shipping, so let me know if you want me to check it out.

Configuration
  • CAS: Thermaltake V3 Black Mid-Tower Case
  • CD: 24X Double Layer Dual Format DVD±R/±RW + CD-R/RW DRIVE. (BLACK COLOR)
  • CPU: Intel® Core™ i5 2500K Quad Core 3.3GHz 6MB cache LGA1155 + HD Graphics ***Overclockable XXX***
  • FAN: CoolerMaster V6 GT CPU Cooler (Nickle Plated Double-V Heatpipe w/ Color Changing LED Cap)***Overclockable XXX*** [+2]
  • HDD: 1TB SATA-II 3.0Gb/s 16M Cache Hard Drive (Single Hard Drive)
  • MEMORY: 4GB (2x2GB) PC12800 DDR3/1600mhz Dual Channel Memory (Kingston Hyper X Blu Series w/Heat Spreader ***Overclockable XXX*** [+4])
  • MONITOR: 22" TFT Active Matrix LCD Display [+74] (22" (21.6" Viewable) Wide TFT Pannel Black 1920X1080 5ms, D-Sub, DVI)
  • MOTHERBOARD: GigaByte GA-Z68A-D3-B3 Intel Z68 Chipset DDR3 ATX Mainboard w/ Intel Smart Response Technology & 7.1 Dolby Home Theater Audio, GbLAN, USB3.0, 2x SATA-III RAID, 2 Gen2 PCIe, 3 PCIe X1 & 2 PCI ***Overclockable XXX***
  • NETWORK: ONBOARD 10/100/1000 GIGABIT LAN PORT -- As standard on all PCs
  • POWERSUPPLY: 750 Watts Power Supplies [+51] (Coolermaster 750Watt GX Gaming Power Supply, SLI / Crossfire ready)
  • SOUND: HIGH DEFINITION ON-BOARD 7.1 AUDIO
  • VIDEO: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 1GB 16X PCIe Video Card [+86] (Major Brand Powered by NVIDIA)
  • FREE Game - Shogun 2 Limited Edition Coupon: Total War

Total Price (Including VATS but excluding shipping) = £799.20

Z power that build looks promising, but I'm looking for something that gives a better price:performance ratio.

I did some fiddling around with another site and i managed to find all this:

Acer S221HQLbd 21.5 inch (Full HD) Widescreen 16:9 LED Display - £94.99

Microsoft Sidewinder X4 Keyboard - £33.47

Gigabyte GM-M6900 Black Gaming Precision Optical Mouse USB - £19.85

Customised System, consisting of:
CarePack - 1 Year Onsite x 1
Custom Configured System Build x 1
4GB Corsair Desktop 1333MHz DDR3 Memory Kit x 1
AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition 3.2GHz Hexa Core Processor x 1
OCZ StealthXstream II 500W Power Supply x 1
Cooler Master Elite 330 Midi Tower PC Case x 1
Gigabyte M68MT-S2 Socket AM3 Motherboard x 1
500GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 3.5" Hard Disk Drive x 1
LiteOn iHAS122 22X DVD-RW (Dual LR)/RAM SATA Drive x 1

£392.63

Of course there is no GPU installed yet, I think ill get it when the GTX/RADEON series go down in price.

But all of this for 540 GREAT BRITISH POUND STERLINGS, which i think is mega cheap.

I don't know what Bulldozer is, but judging by wikipedia a 32nm chip so it could be in the price range of the intel's i7 which is just too expensive for me.

I'll let it speak for itself. And you have to understand Heron, if you just want a normal PC, it will be much cheaper to get one from Dell or HP. But if you want something that you can atleast play a game decently on, you HAVE to get parts that can handle it. Otherwise you will be stuck somewhere between hardly being able to play and game, and still spending for a full gaming PC's worth on it.

Read the entire sentence :p

It should make your whichever AMD system you choose, a lot cheaper. In my opinion buying last generation stuff, when it's just released, is a waste of money.
