Buying new comp to secure my future

I will upgrade the GPU when i feel like, right now i don't really need one...

This for 972$ worth it? it comes with a monitor as well, don't ask me to build my own because I am not bothered .

If this pc's price and components look poor to you, can you recommend me anything apart from individual components. Thanks!


PS: Forgot to mention I'm buying from UK so $972 dollars might look more/less than the actual value of 607 GREAT BRITISH POUND STERLINGS.

If I were you, I would wait for Bulldozer to come out. This will either give you way more bang for your buck, or reduce the prices of some of the components you're getting here. USB 3.0 and Sata 6gb/sec should be in your mix somewhere if you want future proofing, even if you get a Sata 3gb/sec drive and have only USB 2.0 devices. That being said, the second system is slightly more future proofed.

Edit: I've made a dummy build just to see how much it costs. I have been pretty lenient with this build, so you could technically knock off a couple hundred pounds if you don't want to play the latest and greatest. This PC will have no trouble maxing any recent game on the 22" monitor it comes with. I think there was also an option for free shipping, so let me know if you want me to check it out.

Z power that build looks promising, but I'm looking for something that gives a better priceerformance ratio.

I don't know what Bulldozer is, but judging by wikipedia a 32nm chip so it could be in the price range of the intel's i7 which is just too expensive for me.

I'll let it speak for itself. And you have to understand Heron, if you just want a normal PC, it will be much cheaper to get one from Dell or HP. But if you want something that you can atleast play a game decently on, you HAVE to get parts that can handle it. Otherwise you will be stuck somewhere between hardly being able to play and game, and still spending for a full gaming PC's worth on it.
