Bleeding PL

Once when i started bleeding PL, i thought, i wonder what would happen if i just let it bleed out, in the shows the average PL between Civilians is quoted at 1-5, but my character dies at 5k. Why cant i just bleed down to 1 and stop there?

you die when you run out of power

I think the basic idea is, that you've sustained so much dmg your in rather a bad (critical/fatal) condition, and your slowly dying. In Dbz when your life force is depleated, you die.
