There is no anti-piracy software/hardware that a hacker cant get past. Miscrosoft spends money that I couldn't spend in a year on this "new anti piracy technology", but these things always fail. This chip that is installed onto the motherboard is nothing. I mean, how long will it take for a programmer to develop a new chip that acts like the ms one but actually bypasses all the routine software checks.

btw. Bad luck, looks like the xbox has a flawless modchip developed for it that allows you to play backups of all xbox games. ps2 also, and whadya know, i seem to have one installed on my ps2... gee... i wonder how this new msoft project is gonna end up. fools

imo M$ really lost their meaning as a company.
they should make operating systems that works fine on
every computer.best example is dos. I never heard anyone
complain about dos besides that it's a bit outdated.
M$ was good at that point.But after they made windows 95
they lost their initial purpose.Untill now with the whole spyware os they call xp.

I didnt see anything in the dictionary about operating systems that need to control your files and send information to the creater of that operating system.

Well 2 things can happen.
One M$ kills the internet by doing that Palladium thing
Or it kill itself becauss no one is abled to make their own program files or any other stuff anymore becos they are not allowed to make it or can't afford the updated program for it because they just spend their last cash on the latest kernel update.

If only linux was more user friendly.It's more stable than windows ever will be and it doesn't use spyware.It's alot harder to hack because of the root passwords and such.It doesn't need to defrag you hd because it places your files in the right place instead of putting it where ever it likes.Bad thing is that almost every program and game and what not is designed for windows and doesnt run on linux

Lol...I hear ppl whining about how this new OS is going to ruin stuff and it has to be against the law for MS to do this stuff...ever think of why it has come so far?? I mean, how many of you have broken the law with pirated **** on your computer. How do you think all those companies feel about y'all "mooching" free **** off them. Y'all just worried that you'll actually have to go out and buy the stuff like some of us actually do instead of trying to get it for free by d/ling 50 diff. zip files and goin to all the Warez sites or getting your music for free.
As for all this remote control stuff and invasion of privacy, I'm sure there's more to the story than that. Just like with SWG and Jedi, we'll have to sit it out and wait 'till it's released.

I'm not worried about not being able to have warez or mp3s...whatever, I have money to spend.
What I AM worried about is the fact that they can control what we can and cannot use on our machines.
Freeware and everything of the like is GONE...unusable.
They can control what we have on our machines..they can lock or unlock files..
"oops, this group of users didn't purchase the upgrade for Office..lets lock their files until they do."
It may seem preposterous..but its a REAL possibility.

This is a VERY real threat..
We will have to wait and see what happens..but nothing says we have to sit back and watch it happen..

They have the potential to literally control each and every computer using the so-called Palladium OS...
they can do ANYTHING to the machines..which could potentially be each and every user on the internet.
