Ants are capable of making organic rafts with their bodies. They cling on to eachother to make a big flat floating raft with on top of that, the queen and some bodyguards/cleaners. They do that to get to a new area that's on the other side of a river for example. Now, if they were doing this, and the current on the river was too strong, they could've gotten into open sea and there the wave push them to the nearest beach et voila: cast away ants

Funny I always thought Ants wore straw hats, hire wannabe masked swordsmen, shanghie mysteriously beuatiful Girls and let small kids become Marines all along side ehad off into the blue sunset to find the greatest treasure of them all thats buried in the Grand Line. And to top it all off, end up becoming Pirate Kings.
Yo yo ho and a bottle of rum.

I dont think Iv heard of that before, If its true thats a pretty good explaination, but still thats a massive amount of ants. Smart way to travel though...for ants anyway.

just looked into it.
Interesting

Do all species of ants do this or just fire ants, because the ants in these pics(http://www.coasttocoastam.com/gen/page2030.html?theme=light ) dont seem to be fire ants.

When investigating something, credibility of the source(s) = quite important. So I'd say it's on-topic. Anyway from the looks of it, this is one thing observed by one dude at one time, who found it to be weird. The bee thing is a bizarre global event/phenomenon... so I'd say they most likely aren't related at all.

You post a story from a website. He deems the website as incredible. So if the ant thing is fake, it makes sense that he would post about the site. No need to get hasty.
