Well, then seeing this image should be a first for you...

Size: 7.1 kB

Its called Photoshop. It can compress images.

I AM using Photoshop. With the lowest quality that ever was. You know when you save an .jpg image, there is a quality slider. Well, that slider is a 0. Low quality.

Try a different pic or go without.

Save for web is often larger than a compressed jpeg...

Heh, my avatar is only 2.57kb & I really don't care about it's quality. It's not really noticable IMO, for my avatar atleast. My avatar is also 100x100, the maxium size allowed on these forums.

Or just get over the fact that you are only uploading a small picture :p

Meh, just save it as GIF, should turn out small enough.

Or you could do what I do. Resize/alter it in photoshop, save it as a bmp, open that bmp in MSPaint, save it as a jpeg. That brought my avatar down from 16kb to 3.05kb without reducing quality.

MS...paint?

Strange enough, I find that MSPaint sucks in that, it turns JPEG into ugly pictures.

Just my feelings about it though :3

Ermm why would you want to go trough all the hassle, of saving in photoshop to a .bmp, opening it in paint and then saving it to .jpeg if you can also just use Quality 0 in photoshop while saving to a .jpeg?
Just save as a .gif and most images will be able to be used here.

If you have paintshop or something, decrease the color value to 256. This should lower the size. Also reduce the image itself and save it as a .png file. PNG keeps the image quality about the same as a .bmp file, but it's very small.

This should help I a lot, unless you don't have a paintshop program..

Save it as a .jpg or something. Lower quality, but whatever, it works.

You should upload your avatar to an image host so we can possibly see what we can do about it :O

Save for web is the way to go, just mess with the settings more (there are a lot of different settings), i garentee you'd be able to get any 100x100 pixel image to under 10 kb
