I do wonder if the ESF team has the resources/or is willing to spend it to maintain a database for that much players and servers

why shouldnt they ? Basicly the system is almost done if they use the one where was on esf-world.
And switch from esf-w database to esforces. to their site.

and just implement such achivments where should be easy by now for them.

maybe we could start a different thread discussing the technical aspects of the system, and let the others flame about other addons in here.

Just a sidenote, you can proberly have stats on your own website using VSP Stats,
http://www.scivox.net/vsp/

The webapplication does need access to your esf logfile.

But if you are sure no one has build this before, I could make something, if someone unbans my other account.
I would prefer something like this: NS-Stats.de

Web Stats is one thing, and In-Game Stats is another.

Web Stats requires a database, that is updated everytime you do something in ESF multiplayer (or only when you disconnect).

In-Game Stats don't really have to require a database if not needed. The game itself can write info into some file, whose from the achievement info would be taken into your achievement GUI (in main menu).

In-game stats would also require a link to the master database, because else you wouldn't have stats from other servers.

Unless they were saved to your HD in which case you could probably just hack them.

and that would also be inefficient because there would be more communication between the client and the server. Or worst case, client and database.

Unless the file is hardcoded to some unknown language and format and checks your SteamID.

TF2 fails in this case though.

I mean who can crack a programing language that consists of whitespace chars XD
That would be the ones who knows how to reverse the compiler into a decompiler(I think they released the sourcecode)
How about we make it extra difficult and put it all in LOL-code?

Achievements would be easy to create for server, but for client-side it's hard (I've tried). I'm not sure if it's possible to add additional VGUI for client. You can precache file to client once, but you can't do that again with another info if client already has file with the same name.

So IMO the only chance for client-side achievements is if the team decides to add it.
