Monitors is a really personal question.

how much are you willing to spend
what kind of performance are you looking for?
size?
resolution?

Dude, ok, im giving you what I built on an israeli store, ill build the same/almost same parts and lets see how much it will cost(should be less that 1000$)

OK: This is what I got - 993$ without system assembly(couldn't find where to ask for system assembly)

Computer - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115037
Motherboard - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128059R
RAM - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820134065 x3
Video Card - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121099
Hard drive - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148288
Power Supply - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139004
Case - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811233012
DVD Burner - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827135156

All of this 993$ no system assembly

Notice that I gave you a better video card and a better case than mine, although this is without a monitor.

Of course you can edit this list as you like. As well notice that I have put there 1x3 GB ram of kingston with 800 MHZ.

So what do you think about this?

Any opinions about this setup?

Edit: Just noticed you already ordered, still what do you think about this setup?
Look at this setup, edit it as you want, its a great setup (in my opinion)

In what is written in the quotes, I suggest staying with the processor the power supply and the motherboard, as well as the Hard drive has lots of capacity and is cheap, so id say keep the Hard drive as well!

3gb Ram is kinda pointless IMO until 64bit vista doesn't suck
I've had issues with Seagate Also I have 2 640GB's in my system
8800 is too old
I can get the CPU and Burner for basically the same price and I won't have to pay shipping
I have a spare case to put my old parts in, My current one is fine

But thanks for your help :)

Also next time copying link's make sure you get the full thing not the short version :p

Unless you use 64bit windows you got nothing to do with more than 3.5 GB ram

And I think 64 bit is less good with games

22" monitor..
and a price range

well you're set, go look for one yourself!
google the name when you find one that you think is nice and you'll usually find a nice review of it.
also samsung is a good brand in monitors IMO

If you wait till like the end of the month the E8500 should drop in price to like $190-200.

They'll also be dropping the price on the E8400 and releasing the E8600.

This is my current version of a 1k system.

You can just swap the video card out for the 9800GTX since you think AMD is dirty.

Do Not buy open box products that are suppose to come with wiring. In the fine print it says you will not receive any wires.
