I've been following some of the tech demos they release on the XBL Marketplace and it looks really impressive. They have a cool pyrotechnics system in place where fire will travel along burnable surfaces and go through all stages of fire. Eventually, the objects will turn into charcoal. Fire can be used as a weapon, a puzzle-solving 'item' or a means to attract enemies. They also have a cool inventory system which allows you to combine certain items, such a sticky tape and a torch. Throw the torch on an enemy, then all the other enemies will run after it because it has a glowing torch on its back.

I've never played any of the Alone in the Dark games, but this game feels a bit like RE4, only without its enemies and plot, of course.
