Notice how it's only the dutch that are complaining
I also notice that a certain Englishman on this forum also extremely defends its own ref, so hows that different.
"We" were this close to the World Cup, which has been a strange thing on itself considering teams like France, Italy, even England not even making the finals.
I don't think you have to right to blame us for defending the team's play, especially if the ref is giving cards when the Spanish players just letting themselves fall after light contact.

Anyway, this Word Cup completly sucked, the refs in overal had to be better, and next time they have to ban those noisy instruments, cause most times the players couldn't hear their own coaches.

I did enjoy it nonetheless, I always like the excuse to get drunk.

Would you have preferred Holland had forfeited the match? Because that is how it would have ended, if the referee had followed the rules 100%. Holland would not have made it to extra time. Van Bommel, Heitenga, De Jong and Van Persie; all of them would have been sent off. I don't care if he's english, he's still a top referee, and everyone that watches matches of any significance knows this. If the world cup final had been like the champions league final, it would have been a game to remember; unfortunately, Holland decided that they would try to increase their chances of winning by adopting a mixed martial arts style to football. England has had some ****ing terrible referees, but Webb is not one of them. And I 100% believe he is the best referee to have appeared over the last 2 decades of proffessional football.
Also, "light contact" I lol'd. Allow me to show you a few of your horrible challenges from the first half of the game alone:

I allso stand 100% behind Webb. He did an amazing job. The score and the yellow cards were justified.

Had everything been 100% by the rules, then there would have been at least 3 or 4 more red cards shown.

I just rechecked that replay of Iniesta scoring, and the first time, he was off-side. And nobody flagged for it. Also, in the 115th minute, there was a clear corner for the Netherlands, but Webb didn't do anything.

Iniesta was not offside, the virtual replay Linekar and Shearer showed viewers, showed Iniesta to be onside; he was level with the last dutch player back - not offside. As for the corner, yeah, dunno wtf that was about, poor decision from Webb there.

Well I'm still not sure on the on-offside discussion. That said, if it still was 0-0 after 120 minutes, Holland would've lost the penalties anyway. We suck at them.

OK, yes, Holland played dirty and had some serious fouls, but that DOESN'T mean a lot of Spanish opportunities were given by the referees when they gave them free kicks. There was some diving and by the most light contact they (Spanish) got a foul.
While Spain didn't play as dirty as Holland, a lot of there fouls who should have been resulted in opportunities for Holland were overlooked.

Yes, Holland got a lot more yellow cards than Spain, and most of them they probably deserved, but there were some contacts that shouldn't result in a yellow and actually did, and the Dutch got those cards. but that doesn't let me overlook the fact that Spain were gifted with a lot of free kicks by the referee which may create opportunities.

A lot of Spanish fouls were overlooked, even though it is not in a yellow card level foul.

This is my 2 cents.

That "foul" by Ramos was not a foul, Elia was never going anywhere; that's why Webb allowed play to go on. Elia realised he'd kicked the ball too far and that Spain were about to take possession, so he went down to try and win a free kick. That was not a foul. Would've thought that none of the dutch players protesting was a clear giveaway tbh >_> Realistically, Holland had two chances, and Robben ****ed them both up.

They sandwiched Elia, it's pretty clear. There were also a couple of fouls committed against Robben that Webb did nothing against. Seriously, the Netherlands might not have deserved to win in terms of the way they played against Spain. But Webb was a pretty ****ty referee at times in this match, in favor of Spain.

This one was absolutely lovely. Shows how well-versed us Dutch are in multiple sports. We combine Karate and Soccer in one game!

I hate to say it but it looks intentional as ****, I think he is flexible enough and powerful enough to jump to the ball without aiming his foot on his chest...
