Additive Texture prob

hi,
i have a problem.
when i use additive "{" textures on faces it doesn´t get additive ingame it turns black. how can i fix this problem? please help me.

make the texture a func_illusionary and set the mode to additive

I think thats an issue with your video card settings... I believe Direct3d causes this... or maybe it's software mode...

That has nothing to do with my viseocard, because other esf maps with such textures get displayed correctly its just my own map´s textures that don´t get additive.

Use the search button, I asked this question a while back and a guy said this (and it works)

1. Make the invisible part white on your BMP picture.

2. Go to Wally and name that file accordingly.

3. Click on it and edit the palette. Then change the bottom right to 255 index and 255 blue.

4. Add it to a WAD and change its name to have a "{" before it.

Hope this helps. I think I'll add this to the sticky.

now i have an other question:
to get the blue part on textures invisible, do i just have to assign the texture to a block or do i need to make the block an entity with specific fx values?

it needs to be func_illusionary with render mode texture (i think ... havent used it for a looong time....)

I use solid render mode. This just gets rid of the blue, and that's all.

Use solid or texture render mode, and if using a func_illusionary, make sure you set the Render Amount >_>

Usually I only use additive textures with func_wall type entities.

what color is invissible in won, i have some tree's with blue in it but the blue still is there.
anyone know?

Blue. The entity used with the texture was most likely not set to func_wall

What kind of compiler do you use. If you use a vgui, you can acutally do it with 1 mouse click.

i use the batch compiler

btw: i tried texture and solid render mode with fx amount of 255 and it works now. thx guys
