A few Particle System suggestions.

First of all i got thses ideas from watching DBZ music videos, so it might seem random. (all videos came from the show)


Ok. When your meleeing people (in a map with lots of water), you tend to splash into/out of water a lot. Wouldnt it be fun for the particle system to make a splash when you appear to go into the water. and when your going out (either meleed out or swooping out) for it to make a spike splash going the way your going (only if your going straight up wiht a 45 degree diffrence). This aint effects with he water itself, its particle system like when you melee swoop type of a thing.

And last things is when yoru fire a beam ontop of hte water, hte water tends to surround it kinda like the melee thingy. You know, to have melee swoop dust partcles to follow your beam.

If anythings seems not readable, just ask me what I mean.

Then jsut turn the particle system off, Its just mainly a suggestion for those high-end systems. Maby change the varible to 0-off 1- as it is currently 2-this suggestion

Half life doesn't really have a particle system.. lol.. If you've ever played Quake 2 and shot someone, and you see the cheesy blood 'blocks' come out... that's Half Lifes particle system.

And wasn't this suggested before?

2: the particle system that hapenes wehn you melee swoop and when you charge/transform right above water

I downloaded some so that when you fly over water it comes up but im not sure where i got it from but its pretty awesome

i know joe and the team would want to include the super effects but atm they see that that stuff can wait till another release untill going all out on the fx stuff


and no one of this would cause any lag at all

because it would be done client side u might get fps loss but lag wouldnt be caused by more partical effects

well i dont know if you've ever played the specialists mod for hl, but that game has some kickass particles

I still wouldn't really call that a real particle system. It's just enhanced... a little. Half Life is the quake 2 engine =/.

Yes that is true, but it looks amazing. It looks almost as good as the Max Payne particles (no joke). It's really inpressive what they got out of the HL engine. When ten people at once shoot the sh1t out of eachother in the lobby level, pieces of stones fly around, bullets goin trough glass.... It's awesome. Maybe the makers of ESF want to check it out, just to see the particle system.

It's one of my favorite mods together with Natural Selection and ESF.

Well I think if they did that, they'd need to work on the underwater movement abit, cause atm it isnt that pretty...
