What if DBZ was created around this time, say 2005 - 2006ish. Do you think the storyline would be any different? Think any animes might influence the creator into that direction of how the anime is drawn or even written?

For me, I think DBZ would be ALOT more violent then before. I've seen the Japanese episodes but I'm talking about gore that's in Berserk or Hellsing or Samurai Champloo or any recently created anime. I also think the story would be WAY more intense then just an enemy they can't beat so they train and get stronger. The powerlevels might change as well, were a powerlevel of 9,000 is actually something to make a big deal about then laughing at the opponent who has a powerlevel well over 9 million and saying that is weak. I also think that the fight scenes would be WAY more crazy, especially if the influence came from Samurai Champloo.

The Saiyans would have probably done a lot more damage to Earth, and it would be more permanent.

Also, the actual animation itself would look a lot better, with 100x better detail.

You mean as well as the Dragonball Z Budokai Introductions?

I'd imagine there'd be less nuke-type explosions, and more talks of "working problems out in a civilized manner", only to be tricked by the Imperial Pig Devils from Hell. That would lead to 3 episodes of the Imperial Pig Devil from Hell picking on helpless people and nations, who just happen to be carrying around RPGs and building super weapons.

I'm sure Lil' Kim (Jong Il) would make some kind of appearance as well.

Oh no then i woudnt like DBZ at all.
Uberpower combat is nearly the only reason i watch it.

You cant go wrong with barbarism.
To mutch redtape is to mutch, i get stuck in it if i cant tear them to pieces.
Conan anwers what is best in life: "To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women!" :laff:

Akira Toriyama was making a statement by having everything go boom boom. We aren't nearly as afraid of nukes as we were during the Cold War, so I don't think it'd be as much of a focus in the show had it been created this decade.

Zeo makes alot of sense. I'm sure the type of words that came out of the characters mouths would be different as well. Hell, Goku might have been the Prince of All Saiyans.

heh, Dbz was influenced by an anime, Akira's fav, Astro Boy

and seeming as Toriyama wanted it to be a comedy, I dont think he would've gone the gore route.

All I know is that DBZ woulden't have gotten away with a lack of chracter development(esp with the villens, they all were flat nothingness), and it would have needed a more psycological aspect to it, it woulden't have gotten away with huge explosions.
