The Radeon something x800 came out like weeks ago and I was wondering if it was the same as the pro atlantis 9800 one. My video card keeps melting... bleh. -_-"
The core, the board, just about everything. Its a whole different card.Dj^Swift said:What's the difference? =O
Well, actually. The x800 is pretty much the same core architecturally as the 9800, just with more vertex shaders and pixel pipelines. It is by no means, though, "the same card"; x800 > 9800.itr said:The core, the board, just about everything. Its a whole different card.

Actually, at the moment, the 7800GTX is the best card around. You can also play X800 cards on AGP mobos, just have to buy the AGP version, which is identical to the PCI-E version, just different interface.KidBoy17 said:Yeah the X850 is the best card around. The 9800 is still a damn good card. But if you want to get any of the X series cards you have to get a mobo that uses PCI instead of AGP. Usually those mobo's come at a good price. Anywhere from 120-199 bucks. Which also means you have to get a new CPU cause those mobo's do not support XP, they only support 64 bit.
