I never went alone. But maybe next year probably when I am 16 I'll be able to walk alone with a girl or my friends.

Same. I have never gone to the movies alone. For me they are a social thing. There have been very few movies that have really made me want to go watch them, and even those I have watched with my brother.

Behind you.
Movies are really not something that pleases most people, infact most people do tend to critisize why some movies have really high budgets.
I believe it brings fake pleasure when with friends and no benefits alone. Soaps on the otherhand is a completly different story and you may find your question flipped.

I always said I would go to the movies alone. If I want to see it and no one else will, so be it. If I did not have a girlfriend I'd probably see more movies a lone, like Xmen.

The Crow in May of 1994. That was when my brother and his freinds went with me to the movies because I had a car and they didn't. They decided Crooklyn was a better movie. They were way freaking wrong.

I went to the first Jeepers Creepers by myself. I'm a huge horror fan and called all my friends to see who wanted to go, but they all had stuff to do (riiiight). In the end I got fed up and went "**** it, I'll go alone." and I did.

The movie sucked.

Any movie I see, I watch alone the first time. If Im asked to go with friends, I'll do so. I usually end up seeing good movies 3 or 4 times for social reasons. The first time is for the enjoyment of the movie, the rest is to make people happy.

Now that you mention it, I'm much more likely to see a movie alone if I'm watching it at home. Especially Anime or Netflix streaming. I never head out to the thearter alone, as it seems to be more of a social activity.

**** yeah the crow! Of course I was 7 at the time and wouldn't watch that movie till several years later.

In answer to the thread, never. Despite the fact you don't talk to anyone during a movie, it's a very social outing (I find anyway).

I think going out to watch a movie all alone in the Cinema would feel to me like taking a ride on the bus.
There are people everywhere, but nobody wants to talk to anyone they don't know or recognize.
Thus you have no one to share your thoughts and opinions with; and if you do share, you might be interrupting them or breaching into their personal space.

I have been to New York several times, but I always feel kind of lonely out there even when there are people everywhere around me. Manhattan included.
The only bond I remember achieving was in the subway train where two people came and tried to trick me, and then someone gave me a hint not to fall for the trap. Not that I was going to, but it created the intimacy and something in common to talk about.

...I have never gone alone into the official Cinema building.
