Ps3 Games Region issue

Hey guys, is it true that all ps3 games have no region coding, so you can play american games on a australian Ps3, Visa Versa?

As far as I know, all games are region coded.

First I have to buy PS3...

the ps3 doesnt have region coding so you can for example play pal games on ntsc ps3(you can play every region ps3 game on every region console )
but ps2 games still have the region coding so if you want to play a ntsc ps2 game on your ps3 it will only work on ntsc ps3
and i dont have a ps3 i just know it...
