No....no they can't. A Xeon processor has 604 pins (older chips have 603). A Pentium 4 has 478 pins (older chips have 423, newest chips have 775). The sockets are completely different! Somehow I don't think that P4 chip is going to fit in that Xeon slot.

Besides, as I said, the Pentium 4 is not designed to run in a dual processor setting. If you don't believe me, ask the dishes ---> http://www.intel.com/support/processors/pentium4/sb/cs-001622.htm
So even if their was a dual P4 board out there, it probably doesn't even fully utilize the second processor.

Made mine out of extra parts when my "real" computer died... now be ready, and don't laugh!

I have a....
Pentium II 900mhz Processor
128mb SD RAM
4gig harddrive
16mb TNT2 // 32mb Radeon 7000 (I rotate! )

I play CS at a cool 30fps in 16bit windowed 640x480 software/normal mode.... Everything turned down low as possible, gl_max_size 32, about a billion fps tweak commands. Custom HIGH FPS models & hltv models to eliminate animations... and a sweet 15inch monitor runnin at 60mhz...

that's hardcore son..... hard.... core

Are you just making stuff up? Where are you getting this info? The newest line of Xeon processors have always been 603 or 604 pinned.

What is it you don't understand? You can't have a dual Pentium 4 setup. The chip is literally not designed that way. That's why Intel makes the Xeon.

...

Wow, I have a Radeon 7000 too. We are now crappy video card brothers. Someone raise the flag of celebration.

if you have looked around ther have been dual p3 boards...........And you would expect intel to do the same with some p4 chipsets
Just because there is dual p3 boards, doesn't mean intel would do the same with p4's.

Wow! There's a dual P3 board! Their MUST be a dual P4 board!

It's now quite obvious I'm arguing with an idiot. I can't possibly make it any clearer unless I posted an article from the Intel website stating that Pentium 4's are not dual processing compatible. Wait, I already did that...oh well. Have fun wallowing in your ignorance.

I think less of that attitude is needed, Half-Unit. Don't be so sarcastic and patronising :/ I do hope I will not see it again.

Righty, I built my own computer, and it is:
CPU: AMD Athlon XP 3200+ (Barton)
Graphics: ATI Radeon 9800 pro
Sound: SB Audigy 2 ZS
Memory: 1gb ddr
Hdd: 160gb and 40gb, making 200gb total

Sarcastic, maybe, but you can't expect me not to patronize someone who doesn't understand something when it's explained to him three times. Particularly when that someone argues with unfounded information and bad assumptions, like this:

yes he could have a dual core chip , but i doubt anyone is going to go get a dual core chip , but i haven't seen 955x boards around as of yet , and dual core chips arn't that commericaly avalible as yet , i all i have seen is just tech sample on review (it could differ in amd's case thought)
http://www.alienware.com/news_pages/news.aspx

Alienware has been offering Dual-Core processors since 4/18/2005. SalorAlea's said "I ordered an Alienware" and the post was made on 4/25/2005. Strange coincidence.

Please excuse me for dragging this petty argument on, but it's just not me to stop when I know I'm right. Hobo, contact me through a PM if you wish to continue. My apologies to SalorAlea, who was at the butt of this argument while having nothing to do with it.

-=Edit for post below=-
Wow, the only thing that matches the number of pc's you have is your amount of lame comments  .

Gee wiz, Einstein! Has it ever occured to you that if he didn't know about one thing he just might not know about the other? Or maybe he reported the PC's specs before he got it and was planning on taking his old video card and putting it in his new PC, not knowing that their wasn't an AGP port? Or maybe that he's lying altogether (which doesn't seem likely as Sailor Alea doesn't seem like the lying type)? No? Of course these thing never occured to you. Why would they?

All right. This thread is to post about the computers you make, not question about computer legitness. Randy, if you have more computers to add, put them on your latest post, do not make a new post. Same with Half-Unit.

Started out as a standard OEM by Compaq. I added some custom parts to make it:

Brand: Compaq
CPU: AMD Athlon 2700+ 2.0GHz
1024MB ram (3200)
Vid-Card: ASUS N6600GT 128MB, 128-Bit on AGP 4x (my mofo doesn't support 8x)
Sound Card: Turtle Beach - Montego (5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound system which is connected to my USB Preamp.)
80GB Hard Drive
DVD/CD-Drive Combo
I don't know what the hell my floppy drives, mainly cuz I never use it.
300W Power supply, damn OEM -_-

anything else i need to add?
