As the title suggests, because of the RPS nature of melee and the fast gameplay it can become kind of hard to tell if two players collide head-on or one just angled the other, so there could be a head-on indicator to let you know if you got a head-on, even if you lose the trade.
Example: two players are fighting real fast with super mega turbo on, one is pressing simple melee and the other combo and, in the midst of confusion, the combo dude gets a hit, unless it was really obvious, how would he know if he actually got the simple melee guy from an angle or just won the head-on?
It sounds pointless, but it could give at least an insight of what happens along the fight and one could improve from it, because he would know if he was actually getting good angles or just being "lucky" in a head-on collision, could be already implemented tho.

Predicting what type of melee your opponent uses is also a skill. But as it stands, there is no reall plan to have something like that in. Though it probably isnt to difficult to die a HUD element to display a text in case of a headon event.

Prediction can be a skill but it wont help if someone just randomly picks melees without any real pattern, better to just angle them.
In any case, if it can be added later on in the hud then its fine by me.
And since we´re on the topic, are you thinking of adding damage displays to show the damage dealt to an enemy ? Its not really a problem melee wise but it could be helpfull to see the damage when firing beam attacks from a distance.

Dont think thats in the plans, but as said the HUD being designed the way it is, showing displays on certain triggers shouldnt be hard to achieve.
