Game slow

Hi guys yesterday I started to play ESF as usual but it was really slow and lag without stop. Now I tried again but is the same why? Thank you

Was that online or offline, and when you say slow do you mean ping or low FPS?

Both, and ping is normal I think low FPS

Sorry I don't know how to pick a screenshot can you tell me please? And I tried again and I saw there is a problem of ping too. I had a ping of 553 XD

Also, one way to take a screenshot is by hitting shift and the Print Screen button, or just the print screen button, and pressing Ctrl+V in Microsoft Paint.

A ping of 500+ would explain the lag. Can you try to connect to a server closer to you. Also make sure you are not downloading anything when playing. You can also test by making your own server.

Before you try it, try getting the beta HL1 update. You have to rightclick on Half Life, go to Properties, and under Betas select "Beta-Beta". See if that fixes it.

Have any viruses/malware on your computer? Do you play other games that require more graphical wise, and runs smoothly? Is it just ESF with the problem?

I don't think there is a virus the problem is in all games I have in steam. Have I to reinstall all Steam?

If its in all games, then the problem has to be external, there might be something running in the background.

Before playing close any programs that are not essential to your computer. Meaning close all browsers, all music player, everything thats not necessary for the computer to work. Also check the task manager for what process is hogging your resources.

So check and double check for anything out of the ordinary.

Non-Steam games are ok only Steam doesn't work

Try logging a Steam ticket then

What happens if you play a Steam game in offline mode? It has been the case with 2 of my friends.

What games do you play out of steam? any games with better graphics than the ones you have on steam? Just checking to make sure.
