Do you have to have steam to work ESF 1.2? Cause I can't get it to work. It says i dont have like sprites or some missing file when i try and play. Any suggestions?

You can use WON, but it's supposedly getting shut down at the end of this summer. To install it to work for WON, install it to Sierra/Half-Life/ rather than Program Files/Steam/Steamapps/[email protected]/Half-Life/
Sounds like you've got a corrupt install, if you're missing some files.
Try downloading again from a different mirror.

when you get these missing sprites. are you trying to create a server or join one. if your trying to join one it could be the server. maybe it wont let you dl them...but i agree with dragon dude

Now I have a new problem. Whenever I try to play on a server (my own or someone elses) ESF exits and I'm at the desktop. I'm not sure whats wrong. Help!

Try to change your video mode and try to pick a resolution that is stable for your computer.
