I totally agree, excellent observation.

You know it’s bad when a premier wrestler (Cena) has two moves called the F.U. (**** You) and the S.T.F.U. (Shut The **** Up).
How childish and dumb is that ish?
Yeah John Cena is basically a creation that emphasises the typical “badass” wannabe wigga. Which might explain why he’s so popular with the kiddies. I personally think he’s sub-par compared to the previous wrestlers who have carried the world title.
He can’t even wrestle either… all he does his throw his weight and do amateur suplexes.
All Randy Orton does is throw punches and kick people in the corner, then grab their neck for a pathetic shoulder drop.
I watched wrestling “entertainment” for storyline… and not “comeback from injury” drama where you know Cena is going to win at Wrestlemania.
They have to throw a veteran like Triple H in there to keep it interesting.
No one cares about your “athleticism” we want something that makes us go “HOLY ****!”
Hey guys…wrestling has always been fake anyways.
We know it’s fake and predetermined… but, that doesn’t stop it from being cool and funny sometimes.
You have got to love Floyd Mayweather punching Big Show while he was on his knees.
See that disappointed me. It’s just showing that boxing is also falling into the scripted fighting thing. IMO MMA and UFC are the only true fighting forms left.
It is true the MMA has basically taken over…
You got wrestlers like Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley leaving WWE for it.
And it sucks. I can’t belive you guys are watching that instead of some real kick box.
If you bothered reading the rest of the thread you’d have found out that most of us hate it and don’t watch it anymore. If you were old enough to have watched classic WWF you’d understand why we hate what it’s become.
meh, i knew wrestling was fake when i was a little kid and watched it anyways, why?
it was ENTERTAINING, compare a staged wrestling match (weapons, people 10 feet in the air, comedy) with a typical UFC fight (standing around staring at each other half the fight, practically hugging each other) and ask yourself, which is more ENTERTAINING.
sure the UFC and boxing is an actual competition, but wheres the fun in it? if i want to be ENTERTAINED (key word here) id much rather watch a show with cheesy characters, weapons, and the occasional pyrotechnics.
personally i dont watch wrestling anymore, kinda died out with WCW and never got around to switching over to WWF, but the argument is still the same.
anyone here catch brock lesnars first ufc fight? if you did what did you think? i wanna know what the wrestling fan/ex wrestling fan thought about it.
ive heard of the bobby lashley rumors as synth mentioned. i also heard he wrestled at like 170 pounds in college…and now he weighs over 250 easily. i think he’ll have some issues getting by the roids test if he ever did make the move. kurt angle has also been saying he wanted to jump into mma for awhile, but he wants to be able to wrestle at the same time.
i was proud of Lesnars first fight, but he made a rookie mistake, and paid the price. it doesn’t surprise me that he tapped, look how scrawny his legs are.
when you get in the ring with an ex UFC champ, you better bring your A game or you’re going down. and while brock certainly gave it a fair go, it’s safe to say that he’s a long way off.
with his build, and drive, i can’t wait to see him move forward.
yeah you got it exactly right. i was actually surprised the ufc threw him in there with frank mir, it was definitely a risk. i actually called that he would finish brock with the kneebar, just because brock was so inexperienced. a lot of people like to say he shouldnt have tapped or whatever…but thats retarded. a kneebar can seriously do some damage. i expect him to do big things in the future. give him a year or two and he’ll be right up there. you dont see many guys in mma with brocks athleticism and power, nto at heavyweight anyway.
he should definitely win his next rumored fight. the guy hes fighting next really has no chance. the guy hes fighting next shouldve been his first fight in the ufc.
Once the Attitude era ended.. the WWE went straight to ****. The only good talent they have there is Batista (who is only decent), Cena, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Randy Orton, and The Undertaker (although he is EXTREMELY overrated)…
Im a fan of the stuff, i just got done watching Raw. The fans know they are being fooled with, but i dunno.. its hard to explain, Its like an addiction, you know its fake, but you still wanna watch. I don’t know why.. but thats how we are.
The only way they could somehow bring in more fans is if they started to have the stable conflicts again. That is.. having multiple cliques of wrestlers (DX, APA, the Nation.. ect). That and making it more violent and not as staged will definately bring in more fans.
Ugh.. i miss the Attitude era =/
For having scrawny legs.. he sure can lift alot with them. Back in his college days, he used to squat 685 and deadlift well over 700 pounds. That was back in college.. hes much stronger now. I could only imagine how much stronger he is.
A topic like this I’m surprised cuc isn’t all up ons.
And I do agree wrestling has almost always been faked but at least back in the day it was faked really well and they put a lot of effort into it. Now it seems like it’s just not being faked well and just sort of done half assed.
Basically it’s like they’re not even faking that they’re faking anymore, right? ![]()
Well not even faking that they aren’t faking what you mean but yeah…
he might be weaker now actually. he’s training for something entirely different now. he probably hit his strength peak during his wwe days because being big and jacked is what was needed from him at the time. they showed his workout routine that he does for mma now on tv and it isnt all about strength anymore for him. weight training and power lifting is no longer his focus, everything he does is to make him a better fighter now. he actually seemed a lot more slender compared to what he used to look like. being jacked isnt always good for sport like mma, some guys say its actually better to be somewhat chubby.
his workout seemed pretty intense though. he still did a lot of weight work but it seemed more for endurance purposes. i remember him saying he’d lose 10 pounds a day from working out, the amount that he would sweat was ridiculous.
and his legs are scrawny compared to the rest of his body, heh.
