The MMO For Me

Well, I know 2 games that I would recommend you steer clear of, Kal Online and Knight Online (I think it’s Knight…can’t remember, it was the first one I played) because they suck muchly.

Hmmm…a friend of mine keeps recommending Face of Mankind. I haven’t played it yet but it’s sort of an FPSMMO. Looks interesting. It’s an open beta though so don’t know when it’ll be pay to play.

im gonna say city of hero’s as well easy to pick up and addictive as hell… ima bout to get it ^^

Yeah, look up City of Heroes / Villians or Planetside, both were sweet games.

D&D: Online…

if you liked NwN, just imagine that, on crack. =o

I definitely wouldn’t recommend D&D Online. I beta tested it for months, and it’s one of the worst I’ve played. There’s nothing to explore, the combat is buggy and unpolished, everything is instanced, there’s no PVP whatsoever and it’s difficult/nigh-impossible to solo.

You said you’re trying EVE Online? I liked it, but it was too slow-paced, space was kind of lonely.. and the skill system, while interesting, didn’t appeal to me–I don’t like having to wait weeks to train a single skill.

Yeah, EVE could use some improvements, but it’s good so far.

if matrix online is out…then try that one, its the only thing I can think of and dont flame me if Im wrong or if its been said above cuz its time consuming to read your long posts…

i played beta for DnD, it seemed like it could be good fi they fixxed up the combat system a bit, but honestly, as action orineted as that combat system even a little bit of lag killed the game.

Matrix online ahs been out for a long time, and while i enjoyed the game well enough i do not suggest it unless you are a huge matrix fan, although if you are a huge matrix fun i highly reccomend it.

It being a almost..40 year old game? im guessing most kids nowadays havnt even heard of it.

its a shame really, most of todays games are geared toward individuality. whereas D&D, including its online, and even the offline (NwN) formats, are very much aimed at forming parties, and going questing together.

theres no way to make it through a dungeon as one particular class! at some point your going to have to be stealthy, a paladin in full plate aint gonna do that for you, so use a rogue. similarly, using a rogue to take down some hulking giant, or combat many undead is just silly, when a holy knight or cleric is much more able. everyone is unique in D&D, and thats why the game is great, because you can be so diverse, and so useful, but at the same time, need other people.

Yes, I have played PnP D&D. D&D Online is not true to it. Like I said, there’s no exploring. I think it was a big mistake for them to pick the Eberron campaign setting just because isn’t the “latest and greatest” thing.

You’re implying that the way D&D Online is, is the only way they could’ve made it. I’m pretty sure that it’s popularity will be a testament to it’s quality.
